5 Reasons to Plan a Visit to IG Winery

Are you looking for somewhere to celebrate Drink Local Wine Week? Located in downtown Cedar City, IG Winery is southern Utah’s premier winery. Neighboring local attractions, and a short drive from the nearby National Parks, it’s a great spot to unwind after a day of adventure in Southern Utah. The second week of October is Drink Local Wine Week, a week set aside to celebrate local wines and wineries, and encourage visitors to share their experience.

Here are our top 5 reasons to fit a visit to IG Winery into your Southern Utah itinerary.

1. Southern Utah’s First Winery

But why a winery in Utah of all places? While other areas of the country are known for their wines, Utah was not. By combining the time-tested experience and talent of our personnel, with the ideal traffic-rich location of Cedar City, we are able to achieve the best of both worlds.”

The IG Winery started in Cedar City at the Iron Gate Inn, before moving to their current location and Tasting Room on Center Street. While the IG Winery is no longer located at the Iron Gate Inn, wine enthusiasts can stay in the suites that have been converted from the old winery building.

2. Finding that Perfect Blend

After a day spent on the slopes at Brian Head Resort or an afternoon on the trails at Zion National Park, there’s nothing more relaxing than cozying up by the fire and enjoying a drink. In an effort to help you discover your new IG Winery favorite, schedule testing! Their knowledgeable and cheerful staff can walk you through their signature blends as you try a flight of their best red or white.

3. Conveniently Located in Historic Downtown

There’s nothing worse than getting lost on vacation. A new city, one-way-streets, confusing street names… if it takes forever to find your destination it can lose the appeal. Luckily, with their Tasting Room location on Center Street, IG Winery is easy to find. Their building is visible from Main Street, and Center Street/University Blvd connects directly to State Route 14, which leads visitors through Cedar Canyon to Cedar Breaks National Monument, connecting to Brian Head Resort and even Bryce Canyon.

4. Local Attractions Nearby

Not only is IG Winery easy to locate in Historic Downtown, but it’s close enough to local attractions, shops, and more that make it easy to enjoy an evening out on the town. Take a walk through the beautiful gardens at the Beverley Center for the Arts, shop in local stores/boutiques, and dine at incredible local restaurants.

5. #LoveLocal

Local businesses are the heart and soul of a community. With a visit to IG Winery you can readily see how this business helps to keep Cedar City a unique and wonderful place to visit. From their friendly, hands-on experience and casual environment, to incredible events and partnerships, you’ll love your visit and leave with memories that are truly unique to IG Winery and Cedar City.

IG Winery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm at 59 West Center Street, Cedar City, UT.
