Parowan Gap Fall Equinox Observation

Fall Equinox Observation beginning at  6:00 pm at the Parowan Gap Petroglyphs (National Register of Historic Sites) and includes a guided walking interpretive tour inside the Parowan Gap, (7:00 pm) half-mile hike to Equinox Sunset Cairn, (7:30 pm) observe Equinox Sunset down the middle of the Parowan Gap opening.  The program is FREE and those attending are encouraged to wear good walking shoes and bring water to drink. *Depending on Fall temperatures, a warm coat may be needed.

One can go a week before or a week after to enjoy the Fall Equinox. Get there a half hour at least before sunset. There is a specific spot that has a cairn to watch it from, over near the borrow pit, just a little north.

From Cedar City – Go north on Main Street which will become Hwy 130. Continue north for 13.5 miles then turn east and go 2.5 miles on the Gap Road.
From Parowan – Go north on Main Street to 400 North, turn west and drive under the interstate and continue west for 10.5 miles
