Join us in celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States of America with a year of events and more.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. -- That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed....".
These words written by Thomas Jefferson 250 years ago changed the world. They are both inspiration, aspirations, and the foundation on which our country is built upon.
Over the next year, Utahns will join with other states to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. We will come together to reflect on our nation's past, build community, and look forward to the future. Beginning July 1st, 2025, activities and celebrations throughout Iron County will educate, engage, and unite our residents to a greater appreciation of our nation's inspiring history and how the past can guide us to a better future.
