Fire Updates & Information for Cedar City & Surrounding Areas

 

Where is the smoke coming from? Wildfire season in southern Utah can come with a lot of questions as smoke settles in the valleys, and it gets difficult to tell where it's coming from. We're fortunate to have some amazing resources (and fire crews) that help provide up-to-date information and maps.

Current Conditions & Nearby Wildfires

Right now, two wildfires are burning in the counties neighboring Cedar City. The Forsyth Fire in the Pine Valley area (southwest of Cedar City) in Washington County. And the France Canyon Fire near Bryce Canyon National Park in Garfield County.

Currently Burning

There are some closures in effect for both the France Canyon Fire & Forsyth Fires. While there are some closures immediately around the fires, most of our surrounding recreation areas remain open for visitation.
