Find yourself in need of a digital detox vacation? A getaway without all the hustle and bustle?
With the small town atmosphere of Cedar City, Brian Head, and Parowan, our corner of southern Utah makes it a little easier to unplug and reconnect with destinations that leave you awestruck, but provide a moment of peace. These 5 destinations are some of our favorite spots for a quick getaway that doesn't require a packed itinerary, digital tickets, or anything of the sort.
1. The Parowan Gap
Considered a sacred space by the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, the Parowan Gap is a unique and extraordinary destination just 13 miles north of Cedar City. With over 90 panels and 1,500 figures, the Gap is believed to be one of the most concentrated collections of petroglyphs in the west. And one of the most accessible!
Unplug, step back in time, and enjoy the sounds of the birds and creatures that roam the hills surrounding the formations.

2. Brian Head Peak
There's something about standing at 11,000 feet with unbelievable views surrounding you that makes the world feel still. In late fall the resort closes to rest before their winter season and the town of Brian Head slows down. Giving way to a relaxing and quiet getaway.
The road to the peak can be easily reached by vehicle, or hiked if you want a little extra challenge.

3. Southern Utah Museum of Art
A state-of-the-art museum in Historic Downtown Cedar City, the Southern Utah Museum of Art is a must-see destination. Browse the gallery and current exhibits or find new favorite statement pieces in their gift shop. Before you leave, don't miss the incredible sculpture gardens outside!

4. Three Peaks Recreation Area
Rolling hills of volcanic rock, disc golf, and mountain bike trails, count us in! There are over 27 miles of mountain bike trails and 42 miles of OHV trails in this recreation area. Away from the lights and noise of town, Three Peaks is a great spot for an evening bike ride followed by stargazing.

5. Cedar Breaks National Monument
Among the trees, fall colors, and surrounded by stunning red rock views, this natural monument is an ideal destination for a reprieve from the day to day. Hike the Alpine Pond Trail or the South Rim to take in incredible views and the quiet of this less-traveled natural wonder.
Admission (or a national parks pass) is required for Cedar Breaks National Monument.
