Three Peaks Recreation Area


For riders seeking a convenient, family-friendly ATV/OHV destination, the Three Peaks Recreation Area offers miles of designated trails and other outdoor recreation opportunities right outside of Cedar City. The staging area features a diverse range of terrain, including hill climbs, open flats, and scenic looped routes suited for all skill levels, making it an ideal spot for both beginner and experienced riders.

Beyond its ATV/OHV trails, Three Peaks is a popular destination for camping, disc golf, mountain biking, and rock crawling events. Whether you're planning a short ride or a full day of adventure, remember to recreate responsibly by bringing plenty of water, wearing sunscreen, and sharing the trails will fellow visitors.

Camping & Reservations

Group pavilions and campsites require advance reservations, which can be made through the Iron County Parks and Recreation website before your visit. The area also offers 17 designated first-come-first-serve campsites. Fees for these sites can be paid onsite by scanning the posted QR code.

Three Peaks ATV

Parowan Gap & Markagunt OHV Trail Systems


The Parowan Gap OHV Trail System connects Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands from the Three Peaks Recreation Area to the Beaver County OHV Trail Systems near Minersville Reservoir. Riders can enjoy these trails year-round, however, access to higher elevation routes may become limited once winter snowfall arrives.

There are seven convenient trailheads:

  • Three Peaks Recreation Area
  • Enoch Sports Complex
  • Parowan Gap
  • Parowan Lions Park
  • Kane Springs
  • Buckhorn Flat
  • Cottonwood Creek

The Markagunt OHV Trail System showcases some of Southern Utah's most spectacular scenery, including unique red rock formations, forested mountain plateaus, and lava fields. Whether you're looking for a short scenic ride or a full day adventure, these interconnected trails provide riders access to local communities like Brian Head, Parowan, Panguitch, and Duck Creek Village.

ATV Ride Through Dixie National Forest

North Hills & Old West OHV Trail Systems


Located in the southwestern corner of Iron County, the North Hills OHV Trail System traverses between the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands. This scenic trail network offers riders the unique opportunity to explore open desert terrain while keeping an eye out for free-roaming wild horses. Popular viewing areas include Nephi Springs and Haystack Mountain.

This system features four convenient trailheads:

  • Modena
  • Enterprise City
  • Hebron
  • Crestline

The Old West OHV Trail System explores the western edge of Iron County. Along the route, you'll discover remnants of old mining communities and experience the rugged beauty. With that being said, please recreate responsibly and be aware of your speed, noise, and dust when off-roading.

  • Zane/Pine Valley Road Junction
  • Lund
