28 IMBA Trail Towns are recognized for their commitment to outdoor recreation, and Cedar City, UT is among them.

This announcement from the International Mountain Bike Asosication (IMBA) recognizes communities with accessible trails, funding commitment, active local organizations, and sustainable stewardship plans. From the article, the new Trail Town designations is described "as a national recognition for communities that value trails and the people who ride them".

In their announcement, IMBA Executive Director Dave Wiens wrote, "IMBA Trail Towns have the right ingredients: accessible trail infrastructure, a commitment to trail funding, and active local trail organization, a culture of community engagement, and a sustainable trail stewardship plan."

We are thrilled to see Cedar City highlighted as an IMBA Trail Town! Our mountain bike scene has always been special, and we are grateful to our outstanding community partners and local volunteers for keeping it that way.

Ride The Trails and See For Yourself Why We Were Selected

Cedar City is home to three mountain bike trail systems (with trails in nearby Parowan and Brian Head as well), with different vibes and views at each system.

The Iron Hills Trail System is one of the most accessible places to start. With more than 30 miles of trails, it offers options for nearly every skill level. Riders will find smooth flow trails, rolling terrain, and sections of volcanic rock that add texture without overwhelming new riders. The Iron Hills Trail System is a designated National Recreation Trail network

Thunderbird Gardens brings a more technical edge, with stunning views. The terrain is defined by red rock features, tighter lines, and more deliberate riding. The trails here reward focus and control, making it a favorite for riders who enjoy a challenge and a strong sense of place.

Three Peaks Recreation Area is classic southern Utah riding with wide views, rolling hills, varied terrain, and room to explore. Three Peaks is a great place to build skills, test endurance, or enjoy a longer ride without feeling crowded.
