Responsible Recreation in Southern Utah

From the trip of a lifetime to an escape from the everyday, travel means something special to us all. Preserving that experience by extending kindness to the people, places, and wildlife you encounter along the way is a big part of a memorable adventure.

Bee Kind Principles

From the trail to the town, being a responsible visitor is important at every point of your adventure. Staying safe on the trails, utilizing local guides and rentals, and protecting historic sites are all part of beeing kind.

Plan Ahead: Permits & Passes

Cedar CIty is close to many national and state parks, all of which require an entrance fee. Plan ahead for your visit by making sure you have permits, tickets, and reservations for spaces that require them by visiting their website before you arrive.

Be Fire Wise

A little caution goes a long way in preserving our stunning landscapes. Check current fire restrictions at utahfireinfo.gov and follow fire safety principles. Keep your fire small and contained, and never leave it unattended. Be sure that your fire is completely out before you leave.

Be Kind

We love where we live and hope you'll love it too while you're here. While visiting please be mindful and be kind. Respect the places you visit and the people you meet.

Keep Space

Respect the space between your group and others by keeping your voices low and music in your headphones. Respect the experience of others by giving space between your group and others on the trails, at scenic overlooks, and indoor spaces.

Be Water Wise

We live in a desert and water is important to all people, places, and things. Be sure to pack enough water for your adventure. Help conserve water while here. Use only the water you need, and don't let it run down the drain.

Explore Local

There's no one who knows the area and all the cool things to see/do like the locals do! Book a tour or rentals with one of our local guides and outfitters and get some trail recommendations while you're there.

Protect Outdoors

Protect the outdoor spaces around us, both natural and historical. Help us to protect these spaces by giving space to wildlife and historic sites, taking only photographs and leaving only footprints. Remember to stay on established trails and roads. Pick up trash and don't move rocks or logs.

Plan Ahead: Weather & Apparel

Packing the proper range of layers and attire will make a big difference in having a great experience. Pack extra layers to prepare for changes in temperature that come with elevation changes and proper footwear.
