Saddle up and get ready to roll

Nestled among the stunning landscapes of Southern Utah, Cedar City is a town where the spirit of the West still thrives and adventure waits around every corner. In this post, we'll highlight five places to add to your visit to embrace that Western spirit on your visit to Cedar City. We're ready to go from historic landmarks and museums to exhilarating tours and unbelievable food!

Frontier Homestead State Park Museum

Step back in time with a visit to the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum! From the giant steam shovel and caboose out front, to the historic structures out back, there's so much to discover within the park. The park started to house a large collection of restored carriages and wagons and has continued expanding. Throughout the grounds, visitors can find native plants incorporated throughout the park along with nine historic buildings to explore. These buildings are either originals that have been transferred to the park, or very carefully thought-out replicas. Spring through Fall there are hands-on activities available to immerse visitors in the experience while visiting.

Historic Downtown Cedar City & Parowan

We are lucky to have some incredible local businesses in our communities, and some of those are the perfect addition to your "Western Weekend"! Pick up your best new fit from Front Porch Twang or Home on the Desert Range, find antiques and western decor at The Cedar Depot, sit down to enjoy an old-fashioned Iron Port Soda at Bullochs. Snap a group pic in front of one of the murals in Historic Downtown, and browse the shops in the afternoon. In Parowan, spots like Dry Lakes Ranch Beef and the Rusty Bucket are a must! Grab a cinnamon roll, snap a pic in front of the Parowan mural, and explore the shops and historic homes on Main Street.
